Templar Hala guides the Hand of Sol, teaching discipline before the charge and steadiness when darkness descends.
From childhood, Hala felt Sol’s presence and, like other Children of the Light, was drawn to the Amphitheater to hear the Grand Magister, Steadfast, preach Sol’s Light. She watched with awe as the Hand’s templars, magnificent in their gilded armor, paraded during the annual Solstice of Laurels ceremony.
At her awakening ceremony, when the sword chose her, it felt like Sol’s holy permission. She entered Octomilita, the fortified headquarters of the Hand of Sol, as a trainee with her sights set on Goldenhelm Keep. While others chased distractions through the parlors of Octotista, Hala trained body and mind with relentless rigor, and returned over and again to the Amphitheater until her devotion to the Light became absolute.
Hala would endure anything for Sol, even death. Fighting Brutes in the Savage Lands, she was grievously wounded; infection claimed her, and she died for a few moments, only to be reborn. In those solemn minutes, she glimpsed Sol’s domain and felt Sol’s love fill her completely. For that devotion, the Bastion anointed her Bladesaint of the Vow, the highest honor ever bestowed upon a templar.
Having faced her own mortality, Hala will defend Solana fearlessly against the Demonastery’s hordes until death returns her to her beloved Sol. She will cut through the turmoil with blessed truth until the Shadow is no more.
